Dial-up Settings: Macintosh (MacOS X)
PPP/Remote Access Setup
The following instructions will help you set up a PPP connection using OS X.

Apple Menu
- Click on Apple Menu, then choose System Preferences.

System Preferences
- Click on the Network icon.

TCP/IP Tab
- Make sure Internal Modem is selected in the Show drop down list.
- Click on the TCP/IP tab.
- In the Configure drop down list, select Using PPP.
- In the Domain Name Servers box, type 209.44.180.53. On the next line, type 209.44.180.58.
- In the Search Domains box, type airmail.net.
- Click on the PPP tab.

PPP Tab
- In the Service Provider box, type a name for this connection, such as Internet America.
- In the Telephone Number box, type your local dialup number (found here). If you have mandatory 10-digit dialing, make sure you type the ENTIRE phone number in this box.
- In the Account Name box, type your username.
- In the Password box, type your password.
- Put a check next to Save password, if you desire.
- Click the PPP Options button.

PPP Options
- Put a check next to Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications.
- Remove the check next to Disconnect if idle for x minutes.
- Click the OK button.
- Click on the Proxies tab.

Proxies Tab
- Make sure EVERY box is blank on this tab.
- Click on the Modem tab.

Modem Tab
- Make sure the correct modem is select in the Modem drop down list.
- Click the Apply Now button.
- Close the Network window completely.
You should now be setup to connect to the Internet!
Dialing manually:
- If you set up your connection by following the instructions above, your computer should automatically dial the Internet as needed. If this does not work, or you did not enable the "auto-dial" feature, it is possible to connection manually.

Dock
- Click on the Finder icon in the Dock.

Finder
- Click on the Applications icon at the top.

Applications
- Click on the Internet Connect icon.

Internet Connect
- Make sure Internal Modem is select in the Configuration drop down list.
- You can optionally create an alias to the Internet Connection icon in the previous window (by pressing APPLE+L), and place it on the desktop.
